“A-List Modern”
25 May
We, at Heather Garrett Interior Design, recently finished a Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom in a mid-century modern residence in Raleigh, NC. The couple wanted their Master Suite to feel luxurious like a upscale boutique hotel but also wanted to keep the space consistent with the other rooms in their home, which have a modern, minimalistic design. With a wide range of textures and a eclectic mix of modern and antique furnishings, this bedroom makes a bold statement…
Our color pallet springboard? A beautiful piece of art that our client’s found at a garage sale. What a steal!
A balanced mix of textures: faux crocodile leather and faux chocolate shagreen bench, wool/silk Nepalese rug, royal blue polished venetian plaster, ambrosia maple and steel bench, and velvet faux-bois pillow.
With the addition of grasscloth, bamboo shades, hanging terrariums, and a white Asian-inspired corner shelf this bathroom says, “RELAX!”
Looking for an easy way to update a vanity? Two coats of paint, wallpaper (or in the case grasscloth), and new hardware. Ta da!
Hanging terrariums by Roost hung at different heights add a natural element and interest to the space. (Available at hg HOME.)
We made the fireplace sculpture to add a modern touch! A few long strips of cedar can do wonders…so can a collection of glass vessels…
