NYC Late Night Subway Map!

Picture this: It’s 2am. You’re a bit tipsy. You walked 10 minutes to the train station…alone. You’re heading to Queens. You wait nearly 15 minutes for the train with a few strangers, and you realize, “This train isn’t running this late is it?! DAMNIT!” It’s now been about 30 minutes since you left the bar, and you now have to walk another 15 minutes to the station where the train is running. And yes, the train ride itself will last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour on its own. You get home, finally, after nearly an hour and a half, and think, “Why the hell doesn’t the MTA have a late night schedule?!” If you live in, lived in, or have visited NYC, you’ve most likely been in this scenario.

GREAT NEWS! The MTA now has a late night schedule! YAHOO!

With three subway lines that don’t run at all between midnight and 6am, not to mention the three lines that become shuttle trains, the six express trains that run on local tracks, and the night-only shuttle that randomly appears, all I can say is, it’s about time!

Did you know, the New York City Subway is the only large subway or metro system in the world to maintain service to all its stations around the clock? For that we are all super thankful. For the late night map, we are all SUPER thankful! Good work MTA!

Handwritten Love Letter

I write letters, on paper, and send them in the mail – as in, put them in the mailbox for the mailman to pick up, who then brings them to the post office where they get sorted. The letters then go to another post office to get sorted, and then they end up in the addressee’s mailbox. Tada! Remember when snail mail (of course, not called snail mail back then) was the norm for all correspondence and not e-mail? E-mail does have its place in today’s world, but love letters are special and deserve the old-fashioned pen and ink. Write a letter (on paper) this Valentine’s.

Want to really make a statement? Have your words transcribed in beautiful calligraphy by Bryn Chernoff of Paperfinger. Written on Italian stationary and sealed with wax, truer words could never be more lovely.

I have a huge appreciation for music. I grew up playing the piano and in college picked up the guitar. Whenever I go to a show, I am focused on the performers strumming, fingering, chord progressions, arm movements, beats, rhythm, etc.

A friend sent me this video, and needless to say, I was quite impressed with Bryson Andres‘s music. A one-man-band, he loops various recorded segments. UHmazing!

Nips or no nips?

Do you ever go braless or wear a thin bra? Are you ever concerned with your nips standing at attention after you catch a chill? I. Do. And. I. Am. Not. I have small breasts and often go braless. It is freeing and comfortable! I don’t really mind the nips showing when I am cold…of course, that completely depends on the situation (at church or with a male friend struggling with sexual temptation, probably inappropriate, don’t ya think?!)! Though, what happened before bras? There were probably nips all over the place! Culture and Society often formulate our opinions regarding social situations. I am more of a “go-against-the-grain” type of chic, and therefore, question social acceptable or non-acceptable scenarios. What do you think? Nips or no nips?
